Hiking Logan Pass :)

Logan Pass Meadow Looking East 3 Marmot Susi Painting Hidden Lake Mountain Goat Posing Amidst Wildflowers Logan Pass Wildflowers 2 Susi's Closeup of Logan Wildflowers

Mention Logan Pass and a big smile appears on both our faces. Just check out Dave’s (and a few of my) photos in the album labeled 08-25 Logan Pass at the right  to see the beautiful, flower-covered meadow through which we hiked up about 1 1/2 miles to Hidden Lake.

A Dedicated PhotographerIn fact, Dave took so many pics on the way up that I had almost finished my painting when he arrived at the top!

Got an Itch We also were thrilled to see  marmots along the path, in addition to multiple creeks, lakes, different colors of rocks and wonderful wildflowers. Thank goodness for the camera – it gave me an excuse to stop and catch a breath on the up-hill, high-altitude climb!

Of course, Dave thinks I added way too many goat pictures – but they sure were cute! The goats seemed to be curious about us humans; while I was painting, another hiker let me know that there was a goat 3 feet behind me watching – or was he deciding if he was going to eat my brushes??!!

Whatja Painting? The Goat's View of Hidden LakeLogan Pass was indeed a fantastic day whose memories we will long cherish!

    Hi Dave and Susi,
I finally have internet and have been able to take a look at your website. I am very impressed! So far, I have only looked at Logan Pass but plan to look more when time permits. The pictures are really beautiful. Dave is really making better use of his D300 than me. I really liked the shot of Susi painting and I am looking forward to viewing her paintings. I hope Dave has had a chance to check out the Scott Kilby website dtowntv.com and that he picked up some tips on his D300. Thank you so much for telling me about your website. It was a pleasure meeting you both at the St. Mary Visitor center. Safe travels! Carol

Hi Carol! I’m glad you enjoyed the blog – although it’s been a lot of work to keep up with it, it’s become a great journal of our travels this year. One of my favorite aspects of traveling is meeting so many other travelers – such as you! Perhaps our paths will cross again…SHB
