Two days for RV repairs, 4 days of fast running, and 2450 miles later — we’re finally camping!
After a lovely drive along the Columbia River into the spectactular scenic area just east of Portland, we landed at Oregon’s Ainsworth State Park. Real trees are a plus, but even better were the two spontaneous conversations with other interesting campers — something that just doesn’t happen in the Wal-Mart parking lots that we frequented as we crossed the heartland as fast as possible.
There are a dozen waterfalls in this area that we hope to explore tomorrow, as long as the weather is reasonable. Finally, Susi will get to do a painting or two and Dave will snap a few photos.
Vacation has started! Yippee!!
Hi Dave and Susi…I wish I was enjoying that view and getting to see some of your art Susi! Crazy with GC details but it’s coming together. You will LOVE the notebooks. I assemble first thing tomorrow and promise to save you one and send it. Hope you continue to have a great time. Will take some pics on Monday/Tuesday. God bless your time! Miss you guys and thanks for everything.
