Terry and Sue are our Camp Coast Care neighbors, Habitat work mates and fellow Dublin, OH residents – they will be here until the end of February. Although Terry and Dave have been co-house leads on a few houses, and Sue & I have attended the same deep water aerobics for over a year, I think we have become very close travel mates in the last 5 weeks. Terry & Sue have gotten a few chuckles watching the neophyte RVers!
Sue & I have discovered that we both married IT geeks who have totally immersed themselves in IT consulting for HfH. First, they evaluated the systems the HfH staff had in place, then they made recommendations for new equipment purchases and are now into the implementation/writing new software applications and staff training phase. Whew! It’s rare to have a meal together where the two of them don’t rhapsodize about a tech problem or solution!
Sue is having a ball working with many of the families on the construction site. She even has homeowners emailing her to make sure she’ll be on site the next day! She was thrilled to learn how to put up siding today.
Plans for the Re-Building Green 101 workshop I’m developing are also coming along. I have my speakers confirmed and hope to have the location nailed down this week. I’ve started to get inquiries and excitement about the workshop from interested builders and community members – including Marcie Baria, a state senator’s wife.
We worked hard and were ready for a few play days as the weekend approached!
