We were thrilled to discover that we are only 1 hour and 15 minutes from our niece and her husband, Lisa & Ian. They are living in New Orleans while attending graduate school/med school at Tulane. So we hopped in our little white box and knocked on their door late Saturday morning.
We had a blast riding the trolley down St Charles and wandering around the French Quarter. We stuffed ourselves at Ian’s favorite restaurant – the Napoleon before heading out to see the exotic sights in and outside of the shops around Jackson square! Luckily, the rain didn’t begin until we were 3 or 4 blocks from their home early evening.
We dried off and headed out to try Rebecca’s favorite place – Jacque Imo’s. Unfortunately, the 2 hour wait convinced us to try another great spot – Jack & Jenny’s. Lisa and I would definately recommend trying the portabello and brie soup!
Rumor has it that Uncle Jerry B (for Madi Gras) and Lyn & Ig (March) will be visiting NO, so we look forward to a few more trips while in the south…
