McKinley &#8211; this year a little over 1000 will attempt the climb &#8211; at a personal expense of around $7,000 each and 3 weeks to do it. Only half will succeed and a few will die.\u00a0 We celebrated the 4th in this 870 person village watching a parade which lasted about 7 minutes.<!--more--> The high light was the red hat ladies float, which you can see in the video below.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"oy tt-flickr tt-flickr tt-flickr-Thumbnail\" title=\"Another Moose Sighting\" href=\"https:\/\/farm3.static.flickr.com\/2436\/3698797710_4294ef6759_z.jpg?zz=1\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" style=\"border: 0pt none;\" src=\"https:\/\/farm3.static.flickr.com\/2436\/3698797710_4294ef6759_t.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Another Moose Sighting\" width=\"100\" height=\"63\" \/><\/a> Similar to other Alaskan communities, the people who have chosen to live here are dedicated tour guides willing to share their favorite views, restaurants and things to do. Make no <em>moosetake <\/em>about it &#8211; Talkeetna citizens have a great sense of humor! We also met their friends Terri and Travis. Great company and wonderful food &#8211; we even got to try some moose sausage!
