NPR station KPPC in Los Angeles used five of my photos to illustrate their story <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.scpr.org\/news\/2013\/04\/09\/36755\/joshua-trees-in-the-southern-california-desert-are\/\">Joshua trees in the Southern California desert are in &#8216;once-in-a-lifetime&#8217; bloom<\/a><\/em>. You can see the rest of my shots from that day in the <a title=\"04-06 Joshua Tree\" href=\"https:\/\/bezaires.com\/blog\/flickrphotos\/album\/72157633197988285\/\">04-06 Joshua Tree album<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This climate also seems to nurture plein air painters, as we found out when Susi and I visited <a href=\"https:\/\/www.parks.ca.gov\/?page_id=571\">Point Lobos State Reserve<\/a> just south of Monterey. With the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pleinairconvention.com\/\">2nd annual Plein Air Convention<\/a> opening tomorrow, the park was crawling with them.
